Yesterday we bbq'd the first burgers of the season and, hot damn, they were amazing. I'm really into "meat blends" for burgers and since it was the first of the season, and my hubby LOVES bison, I made a burger out of grass-fed beef and bison. OMG guys, I'm drooling just thinking about it. By the way, I will be posting a grain-free bun recipe soon. The one I came up with was a little "hempy" because I got a little reckless with the measuring and ended up dumping a crapload of hemp seed into the dough. They were still good, but not great, so I will try again and then post it once it's "blog worthy".
So let's talk burgers. Beef-Bison Burgers (Or triple B's, if you must!!) 1 pound ground beef 1 pound ground bison 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon sea salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 egg 2 teaspoons coconut flour 1. Combine all ingredients together and by that I mean take your rings, and get in there. Squish it up!! 2. Form into 8 patties. 3. Lightly oil your bbq and then preheat. Don't do it the other way around.. oh boy that's got fireball written all over it! 4. Grill your burgers over medium-low until desired doneness. 5. Slather that puppy up with some paleo mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles... top it with whatever you can get your hands on (I had tomatoes and baby romaine on hand) and ENJOY!
